Motherwort, Chinese (Leonurus artemesia)

Syn Leonurus heterophyllus,Yi Mu Cao. This is the motherwort commonly used in Chinese medicine. It is among the 50 fundamental herbs of TCM and is found growing throughout China and other parts of Asia. The aerial parts of the plant are used as a diuretic, for stimulating blood circulation, regulating menstruation, and lowering blood pressure. The seeds are used as an aphrodesiac and as a remedy for conjunctivitis and night blindness. A tea of the leaves used as a wash has been reported to ease itching and pain from shingles. Not intended for use by Pregnant women. This variety of motherwort is smaller, reaching 3 to 4 feet with very pretty reddish/purple blooms. Easy to grow and widely adaptable to many different soil types. Biennial or self seeding annual. Hardy to zone 8.

Occasionally, customers ask us about priority mail as a shipping option but due to our extremely rural location, our tiny post office is simply not equipped to handle our shipping volume and it has been our experience that USPS is simply not as dependable for prompt and safe plant delivery.

We ship well established, healthy plants and we want them to look that way when they arrive at your doorstep and we truly believe that fast, efficient shipping is a worthwhile investment toward this goal.

Our shipping rates for 2008 for 6-12 PLANTS are as follows:

WEST COAST:(CA, OR, WA): UPS GROUND: $14.50

West of the Rockies: (NV, ID, MT, CO, AZ, NM, WY, UT): UPS GROUND $17.50

East of the Rockies (All Other States): UPS 3 DAY SELECT $29.50

Please remember the minimum order is 6 plants, in any combination (for larger orders of over 12 plants, check with us by email or phone and we will give you a shipping quote).

Our plants are shipped between Mid-March and Mid-November. We guarantee our plants will arrive in good condition and will ship them to you as quickly as possible to minimize any setback from travel.
