Mint, Water (Mentha Aquatica)
This water loving mint is native to southern Europe, and does not have to be grown in water to thrive, but enjoys a partly shaded moist site. A tasty and extremely aromatic tea plant this mint bears a resemblance to the chocolate mint in flavor. A vigorous plant that will quickly claim an area in the herb garden. It has attractive, shiny maroon and green leaves with pale pinkish blooms. Easy and worthwhile to grow. It makes a delicious sun tea and fresh garnish in the summer season. Plant in part shade and moist conditions. Perennial. Hardy to zone 7.
